General information about taxation in Åland Islands
Åland is an autonomous region of Finland. Åland has a parliament (lagtinget) and provincial government (landskapsregeringen) under the autonomous self-government. The legislative powers concerning individual taxation are divided by Åland and Finland. This means that individual taxation is regulated by legislation of Åland and of Finland. For private persons the taxation is mainly the same as in Finland, except for certain deductions for persons with unlimited tax liability or for persons with limited tax liability who have applied to be taxed with progressive taxation.
